Photos From The 2014 Race

Oh boy. I couldn't catch a break this year. The shortened race course meant that I was out of luck when it came to setting up at the Shopping Cart.

I tried to set up at a few other spots along the stream but for various reasons (mostly involving high water and distance) I came up short.

So I'm sorry to report that I have no photos of the 2014 race. However, here's a list of photographers who might be able to help you out:

St. George River Race Sees Nice Turnout

According to this Bangor Daily News article, over 100 paddlers took part in the St. George River Race earlier today. (The article also features a short video).

I've also posted my photos from the race here.

Kountdown To The Kenduskeag

If the Passy River Race was an indication of things to come, the Kenduskeag could be a wild & wooly ride. We'll have to keep an eye on the local precipitation over the next twelve days.

Next up: The Souadabscook Stream Canoe Race and the Marsh Stream Sprint/Race, next Saturday and Sunday, respectively.

40th Annual Kenduskeag Stream Canoe Race - here's a nifty ten minute video of last year's race by MaineMVP.

Sparky Bob's Six Mile Helmet Cam Video - This guy straps a video camera to his helmet just before heading into the maelstrom of Six Mile Falls. Cool first-person viewpoint of the rapids and Sparky's rescue. (Warning: there is some rather, umm.."salty" language in portions of this video...as you might well imagine).

Lover's Leap - 03/02/06

Beautiful snowy day in Bangor - just had to get outside with the Nikon. Cabin fever and whatnot.
Here you can see that the Kenduskeag Stream hasn't completely frozen over as in previous years. Lover's Leap is visible in the background.
